It would be fair to say that nearly every time I talk with someone about healing, I end up recommending a book or two.
And over the years, certain books have become favorites after referencing them so many times.
Here they are: The books I love and cherish and recommend wholeheartedly. The books that changed my life. The books that might just change your life – or at least inspire you to reflect on life. Enjoy!
Anatomy of the Spirit by Caroline Myss
One of the first books I read about energy healing. It shaped my experiences with healing over the next few years and continues to influence my life and healing practice to this day. This book is informative and inspiring and perfect for people at every stage of their healing journey.
The Alchemist by Paul Coelho
I had been hearing about this book for years but I never really knew what it was about. I was curious, but for some reason I put it off. As they say – when the student is ready the teacher appears, so it was certainly Divine timing when I did read it and my life did a 180. That’s why I won’t say what it’s about or how it will change your life. You need to find out for yourself.
Allergies: Disease in Disguise by Carolee Bateson-Koch
This book was required reading for my allergies and immunology course when I studied holistic nutrition in 2007. Although I never considered myself a ‘science person’, this book hooked me with its seemingly revolutionary approach to allergies and healing. “Why isn’t this more well-known?” I still ask myself that to this day.
Daily Guidance From Your Angels by Doreen Virtue
When I want clear guidance from angels, either for myself or my clients, I often refer to this book. No matter what’s going on in my life, I always find inspiration and clarity here. It’s actually remarkable how spot-on these messages can be. Just another sign of spirit watching out for us, ready to help when called on.
The Five Love Languages by Gary Chapman
This book was recommended to me by a close friend about 12 years ago after she noticed drastic improvements in her personal relationships from using its principles. Although it’s primarily intended for romantic relationships, this book teaches a new perspective on love and communication that applies to all relationships and interactions with people. I have suggested it to so many people that I should probably start carrying copies with me when I go out.
The Four Agreements by don Miguel Ruiz
I bought this book as a xmas gift for my mom after hearing about it on the Ellen Show. I didn’t read it until a few years later, but it quickly became one of my favourites. The principles of the four agreements have become a standard by which I live and practice, and I refer to them daily in my work and my own personal life. This book is simple and yet so transformative.
Optimum Nutrition for the Mind by Patrick Holford
Another “Why isn’t this more well-known?!” book. Having personally experienced depression and anxiety, this book completely changed my understanding of mental health and wellness. When I began to implement what I’d learned, I noticed radical healing within myself. Totally life-changing for anyone interested in improving mental health.
* Another great one to check out is Optimum Nutrition Before, During, and After Pregnancy by Patrick Holford and Susannah Lawson. Similar concepts tailored for creating a human. *
