Animal communication is a fun and rewarding activity.
Anyone can learn these simple intuitive practices to strengthen connection and begin communicating with animals.
As mentioned in ‘Getting Started with Animal Communication: Part One’, animals are very smart. They understand energy and intention more than language.
Learning to communicate with animals takes time and practice, but it’s quite simple and very fulfilling.
In Part One, I shared some tips for introducing yourself to an animal, and starting a conversation. Here, I have 2 more tips for enhancing communication with any animal:
3. Let the animal lead, but set your own boundaries.
After introducing yourself and explaining your curiosity, take a moment to reassure the animal that you don’t expect anything of them. Remind the animal that they are in control of how long this interaction lasts, and assure them that they can leave or stop at any time. Give them the freedom to make their own choices.
At the same time, don’t shy away from setting your own human boundaries. If you don’t want an animal to come too close, tell them. “Thank you for visiting with me Mr. Snake. You’re very beautiful but I really want to admire you from afar; please don’t come over any closer.”
Just like communication, respect is a two-way street. Animals know this. They accommodate our preferences as we do theirs. Win/win.
4. Ask specific questions, and make specific requests.
If your main goal with animal communication is to find out a specific answer, ask specific questions. Don’t leave it open ended; Ask.
“Mr. Bird, I want to know why you keep banging on my roof every day. It’s making it hard for me to concentrate on my work. Is there something you want to tell me? What is your message for me?”
And listen closely. What is the first thought that pops into your mind after asking this question? What sort of response does the animal give you? Pay attention and read the clues.
If you feel inclined to make a request, do so calmly and openly. “While I appreciate your message Mr. Bird, please stop banging on my roof. Give me some peace and quiet.”
*This does not mean the animal will always listen and abide, but if you state your intentions clearly there’s a much better chance of resolving an issue.*
So there you have it – 4 easy tips for getting started with animal communication. Learning to trust and listen to your own intuition is a HUGE part of this, so get practicing!
The opportunity for spiritual enlightenment sometimes arrives dressed in the form of an animal. Are you listening?
